What happens during the filling procedure? 

During the procedure, the dentist will first remove the decayed tooth material, clean the affected area, and then pack it with a filling material. Closing cavities with fillings will restore the tooth to its original form and prevent germs from entering the tooth, which helps in preventing further decay.
