Gum Treatment and Surgery

Gum disease happens when plaque builds up on the teeth, because of which bacteria get accumulated and can spoil the teeth too.
For some mild cases, oral hygiene routine and going for regular dental checkups, scaling and polishing might help to improvise the condition.
However, if the condition is severe, you should meet the dentist and they may suggest gum treatment or even gum surgery if needed.

Gum infection causes a pocket to form between the roots’ surface and the gums. Plaques get stuck inside these pockets, causing infection and gum loss.

Signs of gum infection:

  1. Red and swollen gum.
  2. Bleeding of gum while brushing and flossing
  3. Bad breath
  4. Discharge of pus

What can be done to keep gum healthy?

  1. Do brush your teeth twice a day with a soft toothbrush.
  2. Floss at least once a day
  3. Replace your toothbrush every 3 months to prevent bacterial build-up.
